The web GeekyJock.com

The Geeky Jock always gets the best deal when buying consumer technology products. The key is simply knowing where to look. Here's what I do to find the best deal on the best products.

    1. I go to a site like dealnews.com or bensbargains.net and search for the type of product I'm looking for to see any current or past deals and how much they were going for.
    2. After I find a product I'm interested in, I do a google search "review of name of product" to read about other people's opinions and experiences with the product. Amazon.com and Newegg.com have tens of thousands of user reviews and are regularly on the first page of search results. If not, try going directly to them.
    3. If I feel comfortable with the reviews, I go to Pricegrabber.com and Shopping.com to see a listing of online stores that carry the product and their prices. I don't automatically choose the store with the cheapest price. To avoid hassles, I'll gladly pay a few bucks more at a site I've heard of and I know is reputable. You'd be surprised how often the sites I've listed below are at or near the top of the price listings.
    4. If you're still unsure about a store, go to Reseller Ratings to read user reviews and ratings of that store.

The stores listed below are my favorites. I've purchased from all of them and wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone. The stores are categorized and listed in order of my preference for them. I'm affiliated with most of these stores in some way, so I'll get a small percentage of the sale if you click through one of my links and buy something. If you are going to buy and I helped you out in some way, please do me a favor and click through one of my links.

Most Recommended

Amazon.com
They are the biggest because they are one of the best. Amazon has a huge selection and consistently has some of the best prices on technology products. In addition to the great prices, Amazon offers free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Be sure to check out the customer reviews before buying. Also a great place to buy used books through Amazon Marketplace.

Buy.com
The Geeky Jock buys from Buy.com all the time at home and at work. Use a pricing search engine like Pricegrabber or Shopping.com and you'll find Buy.com with one of the lowest prices again and again. Most products that are on sale also come with free shipping. I often get products in two days, sometimes one day, when using the free standard shipping.

Newegg.com.
If you're looking for anything having to do with computers or technology, you have to checkout Newegg. Their selection is vast and their prices are great. All the products on the site have multiple high-quality pictures and user reviews. Shipping is reasonable and sometimes free. Newegg ships fast - you'll usually get your goods within 3 days.

Technology Products

CircuitCity.com
When Circuit City puts things on sale, they have some of the best prices on the net. Free shipping on orders $24 and up. I love the customer reviews too.

ZipZoomFly.com
Funny name, but great prices on technology products. Free 2-day FedEx shipping on most items too.

OneCall.com
A reputable vendor of technology products with very competitive prices. I once bought a digital camera from them but had to return it. They took it back no questions asked and without a restocking fee. This is almost unheard of on the internet when the product isn't defective. I'd recommend OneCall to anyone.

JandR.com
J & R is a huge superstore based out of NYC. Their selection is huge and the prices aren't too bad either. Watch out for shipping costs, though.

Office Depot
The big discount office supply stores like Office Depot can have great prices when things go on sale or clearance. Plus, you can get free shipping if you live somewhat near a physical store.

OfficeMax.com
The big discount office supply stores like OfficeMax can have great prices when things go on sale or clearance. Plus, you can get free shipping if you live somewhat near a physical store. Worth checking out.

Online Photo Processing

Winkflash.com
This is the Geeky Jock's online photo processor of choice. Why? Super cheap per-print prices and 99-cent flat rate shipping no matter how many prints you order. New users get 50 free prints! They also have great prices on poster-size prints.

Shutterfly
They were one of the first online photo processors and now one of the biggest. Print prices are reasonable and you can even pick up your pics at Target stores. New customers usually get a bunch of free prints for signing up.

Snapfish.com by HP
They are one of the big dogs in online photo processing. 20 free prints for new customers and 9-cent prints after that. Also a huge selection of other photo products.

Ink and Toner

4inkjets.com!
This is where I get compatible toner for my laser printer at home. They have genuine and compatible ink cartridges and toner for nearly every printer on the market. They're prices are great and they are always sending coupons via email for 15% off. Free shipping on orders over $50.

Travel

CheapCaribbean.com
If you think you can't afford to get away to someplace warm, check out Cheap Caribbearn. The Geeky Jockette and I have booked two trips with them and were impressed both times. The second trip was to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for 6 days at an all-inclusive resort with airfare for just over $1500 for both of us. I'll admit we found a killer deal on that one, but their prices will blow you away. Cheap Caribbean's customer service is awesome - staffed 24 hours a day and based in the U.S!

Computers

Dell™ Home Electronics & Accessories
Dell sells a lot more than computers. They offer a huge selection of electronics at great prices, especially when things are on sale or coupon codes are available.

HP
HP often has great online deals for desktops and laptops.

Media, Cables, and Accessories

Monoprice.com
Find out just how huge the retail markup is on cables, adapters, and accessories by shopping monoprice. You won't find any better prices on cables than here. And, the shipping is really cheap.

Meritline.com
One of my favorite sites for accessories and hard-to-find items. They're known for their great prices on digital media - DVD-Rs, CD-Rs, etc.

PC Micro Store
A great site for electronics and electronic accessories. They often run free shipping and coupon code promotions.
